On Friday 4 June Hutchies was recognised at the annual Queensland Australian Institute of Building Awards for our hard work and outstanding projects. We walked away with four Professional Excellence Awards and five High Commendations.

Hutchies' Gold Coast team, lead by Paul Hart & Levi Corby, received two Professional Excellence Awards for 77 Jefferson and Vue Terrace Homes, both in the residential space. 77 Jefferson, won Residential Construction between $2M - $25M, designed by architect Bureau^Proberts, soaring 9 levels high on a prime beachfront position. Located on the largest concrete podium in the Southern Hemisphere, the Vue Terrace Homes project features 263 townhomes, ran across four staged handovers and won Residential Construction above $25M. 

Our Brissy team, lead by Mitch Grimmer received the Commercial Construction $1M - $25M Professional Excellence Award for their exceptional work delivering stage 1 of Fortitude Valley State Secondary College - the first new inner city state high school in Brisbane to be built in over 50 years. This school was constructed over 88 weeks and is considered a flagship, future-focused educational facility, architecturally designed and documented by Cox and ThomsonAdsett to sympathetically integrate with its inner urban surrounds.

Team Robert Diamond was awarded the Professional Excellence Award for their great work creating interactive learning hub, 'Modwest' at the University of Queensland in St Lucia. The project was constructed through an innovative hybrid modular solution in response to feedback received from the school and faculty asking for more large scale, dynamic learning spaces.

Hutchies has a long track record of being recognised at the AIB Professional Excellence Awards and we're extremely proud of the results. We look forward to the National Awards held later this year!
