Wishlist Centre (Stage One) has been made possible through the Australian Governments Department of Health, Community Health & Hospitals Program. Hutchies was honoured to work on this important community project, delivering the fast-growing Sunshine Coast region with Australia’s first integrative facility that offers affordable patient accommodation, primary healthcare and complementary therapies. The four level, purpose-built centre supports patients and their families receiving ongoing treatment or transitioning to and from hospital, as well as offer low-cost/no-cost services that provide a circle-of-care for those experiencing a health crisis, away from the clinical environment.

Created to promote wellbeing, Wishlist Centre features light filled spaces and accommodation. The building is supported by its own dedicated kitchen and laundry, as well as break-out areas and shared spaces for community and outdoor activities. Strategically positioned, the site falls centrally within the Oceanside Health Hub, allowing easy accessibility for residents to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, with excellent connectivity to nearby Birtinya Town Centre and public transport.

Experience has taught us that there are various fundamental elements of design and construction that the success of a support facility project hinges. Our team worked closely with Wishlist throughout the project to ensure together we delivered this state-of-the-art centre that everyone is proud of.
