We were delighted to have the opportunity to undertake the project as an ECI, giving us the ability to ensure the design meets the client vision in the most efficient way. Though the redesign and modularisation of HealthOne at Lightning Ridge, Hutchies was able to greatly reduce the footprint of the building within the new hospital masterplan. Solar systems were also added to the new buildings, reducing the whole of life, operating costs for the end user.
The project was delivered in three stages, the first was the refurbishment to the main hospital building, which houses consulting, interview and dental rooms. Stage two was undertaken utilising modules to creation three stand alone, one bedroom staff accommodation buildings. The last stage was the build of the new clinic building, which was constructed out of five main modules, one deck module and an insitu constructed structural linkway canopy.
The project was a great success, delivered ahead of time and under budget despite numerous challenges including multiple stakeholder management and a major scope change post tender award.
