The Satellite Health Centres (delivered as the Satellite Hospitals Program) is a Queensland Government initiative commitment to deliver seven new facilities to support public healthcare delivery in rapidly growing communities across South East Queensland. The locations for the new health centres are Redlands, Caboolture, Kallangur, Tugun, Ripley, Bribie Island, and Eight Mile Plains.
The Satellite Health Centres offer a range of specialist services based on the health needs of their local communities. They incorporate outpatient community-based healthcare services along with virtual healthcare opportunities. This integrated approach will provide comprehensive care to patients, catering to their specific healthcare requirements.
Each health centre features a minor injury and illness clinic. These clinics provide non-urgent care, thereby supporting the emergency departments at major hospitals by giving people more options to access healthcare for minor injuries and illnesses close to home. This approach helps in reducing the burden on major hospitals and allows patients to receive timely care in their local communities.
Hutchies, as the builder for the Satellite Health Centres, played a crucial role in constructing these facilities and ensuring we met the required standards and specifications. The project was built under a two stage managing contractor (MC) process. Our expertise and experience in rapid construction projects and ability to build multiple projects simultaneously ensures for a consistent, efficient and successful project outcome. We're proud to have played a critical part in providing enhanced healthcare services to these South East Queensland communities .
