Hutchinson Builders vs Hutchies
Hutchies is a nickname we're really proud of. We've traced it back to the early days of Hutchies' Yard in West End in the 1950s.
Its rare that brands become so well known that people shorten their name colloquially, so its something we wear with pride.
We happily go by either Hutchies, Hutchinson Builders or Hutchinson — and each are legal trading names.
Our general rule of thumb is mixing between them when writing about the company to avoid too many repeats.
Hutchies is generally more conversational, whereas Hutchinson or Hutchinson Builders can be more formal.
